Twenty-eight grounds across the country will play host to AFLW matches after the 2025 fixture was released by the AFL last week.

Major regional and metropolitan cities across Australia will get their chance to showcase their facilities, with Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium and Gold Coast’s Peoples First Stadium the only major AFL venues to play matches in 2025.

The season is scheduled to kick-off on Thursday, August 14 with Carlton and Collingwood to square-off at IKON Park in Melbourne.

Ipswich, Frankston, Ballarat, Coffs Harbour and Mackay are just some of the major regional cities to be selected to host matches while many AFL club home training grounds will host matches. All states and territorites will host games this season.

The 2025 AFLW season, played across 12 rounds, will for the first time start during the AFL home and away campaign, coinciding with the final two rounds of the men’s competition. The grand final will be held on Saturday November 29.

Some of the marquee games include Dreamtime returning to the Top End, with TIO Stadium in Darwin hosting Richmond and Essendon on Friday August 29, while the 2024 grand final rematch between Brisbane and North Melbourne Tasmania will be played at Brighton Homes Arena in Ipswich on Sunday September 14 and GWS Giants and Essendon will play each other for the very first time at Manuka Oval in Canberra on August 16.
