BBL15 FIXTURES LOCKED IN WITH REGIONAL VENUES SET FOR BLOCKBUSTER MATCHES

Wednesday 09, Jul 2025

All major capital cities in Australia, as well as two of the country’s largest regional cities will host matches across the course of BBL|15 with the league announcing its 44-game schedule recently.

Once again, Perth’s Optus Stadium (pictured right) will get the chance to showcase its elite surface and turf pitch to the world with the venue to kick-off the 15th edition of the Twenty20 tournament on December 14 when the Perth Scorchers welcome the Sydney Sixers.

However, the most interesting part of the league’s fixture drop is the Melbourne Renegades hosting back-to-back home games at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong (pictured bottom right) to kick start their campaign, which is the eighth season the club has brought BBL cricket to the Victorian regional city - just under 90 minutes from Melbourne.

The Renegades will then play the rest of their matches at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, their regular home ground and give the surface plenty of time to settle down after the rigours of the AFL season as well as high-profile sporting events and concerts throughout the year.

Other high-profile blockbusters to look out for this season include the BBL|14 Final rematch between the Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder at Ninja Stadium in Hobart, the Boxing Day double-header between the Sixers and Melbourne Stars at the SCG followed by the Scorchers and Hurricanes at Optus Stadium. Adelaide Oval will host the Adelaide Strikers’ 13th New Year’s Eve match against the Brisbane Heat, while the MCG will host the Melbourne Derby on January 4 and the SCG to welcome the Sixers and Thunder on January 16.

In total, 11 venues across Australia will host matches with regional cities Coffs Harbour and Geelong rewarded with matches.

Coffs Harbour International Stadium, which hosted one match last season, will get the chance to boost its credentials as an elite cricket facility once again with the Sydney Sixers match on January 5. The BBL final will be held on January 25, 2026.
