BUMPER 2025-26 DOMESTIC CRICKET SEASON TO FEATURE ICONIC, BOUTIQUE VENUES

Tuesday 15, Jul 2025

Venues all across the country will get the opportunity to host matches this summer with Cricket Australia announcing a bumper men’s and women’s 2025-26 domestic schedule.

In total, 14 grounds and stadiums, including some smaller boutique facilities in Sydney will feature in the calendar.

The men’s domestic season will launch at Cricket Central (pictured top right) on September 16, the home of Cricket NSW located at Wilson Park in Sydney Olympic Park which opened in 2022. New South Wales will welcome Tasmania to the state-of-the-art facility for the One-Day Cup fixture.

The opening Sheffield Shield round will then begin on October 4 with the Allan Border Field, Adelaide Oval and the WACA Ground in Perth to host matches including potential Test players preparing for the upcoming Ashes series against England.

Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide (pictured middle right), which hosted last year’s Sheffield Shield final between South Australia and Queensland, is locked in for another home-and-away fixture from March 5-8, 2026.

The women’s domestic season will launch in September prior to the WBBL which begins on November 9, with the WNCL competition to begin on September 24 at the WACA Ground in Perth with Western Australia versus Queensland.

Fringe WBBL players will also get the opportunity to fine tune their game with the T20 Spring Challenge announced as part of the domestic schedule. The tournament, a nine-team competition introduced last year to ensure no overall reduction in women’s matches features teams aligned with the eight Big Bash clubs along with the ACT.

The tournament, to be staged entirely in Sydney for a week from October 21 will be a strong opportunity for smaller venues in New South Wales to showcase their facilities with North Sydney Oval, Blacktown Olympic Park and Drummoyne Oval to host matches.

All states and territories, with the exception of the Northern Territory, will host matches this season.
