Launched in 2022, the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association (ASTMA) Women in Turf Strategy is a program intended to addresses the key actions necessary to increase the representation of women in the sports turf management industry. The Women in Turf Strategy is designed to establish a framework for the target areas of talent attraction, in pioneering new and innovative ways to increase participation of women seeking a career in Sports Turf Management, and talent retention, through the advancement of vocational and experience opportunities to develop skilled and qualified workers through a series of pathway and support initiatives. A key pillar of the Strategy, is the development of Education and Networking Events, providing learning and networking opportunities for sports turf managers at a range of events, venues and activities throughout Australia. Women in Turf Education and Networking EventsTargeted to support learning and develop for next generation of female leaders, education and networking programs are available to support female sports turf managers in accessing volunteer work placement opportunities to further develop their skills, knowledge and experience in turf management and leadership in areas including:
