The Royal Perth Golf Club, home to course superintendent Pat Casey (CSTM), has shared the significant progress of Stage 2 of their Course Masterplan Project as they look to elevate the course to world-class standards.
After the successful completion of Stage 1 (Holes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 16), Stage 2 has brought about substantial enhancements across the South Perth-based course, with the next stage expected to open to members in January 2026.
“Stage 2 has brought substantial enhancements across the course. Turf has been laid, greens seeded, irrigation installed, and vegetation plantings either planted or currently being propagated for autumn inclusion,” the club said in a Linkedin post on October 24.
“These improvements represent more than upgrades – they're about creating a world-class golfing experience for our members and guests. It's exciting to see the future layout of Royal Perth Golf Club taking shape. The transformation is visible from every angle. Combined with strategically placed native vegetation, environmental and water saving initiatives and a strong focus on improved safety across the site, we're proud of how our vision is becoming reality. With Stage 3 on the horizon for 2026, it's an exciting time for the club.”
The highly anticipated upgrades delivered in 2025 include:
- New 7th Green
- New 8th Tee & Green (New Par 3)
- New 9th Tee
- New 13th Green (will become the future 12th green within the final 2026 plan)
- New 14th Tee & Green (New Par 3 – will become the future 13th hole within the final 2026 plan)
- New 15th Tee (future 14th tee)
- New 18th Green
- New 19th Green (New Par 3)
- New 1,750sqm Himalaya Practice Putting Green & Chipping Green
The club paid a “special acknowledgment” to the hard-working agronomy team and architects, led by Casey “who have been exceptional throughout this project as well the many volunteers and our members who continue to support this vision. We're also grateful for the expert guidance and work from Mike Clayton Clayton, DeVries & Pont, Harley Kruse , and Lukas Michel once again this year.”
