Thursday 30, Oct 2025

Victorian cricket clubs will benefit from $1.2 million in funding for key projects through the latest round of Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) grants.

Delivered in partnership with Cricket Australia, a total of 57 projects were funded in 2024-25, generating more than $45 million in partnered investment with Federal, State and Local Governments as well as clubs and schools.

Ted Summerton Reserve in Moe, one of the major regional premier cricket and football facilities in Victoria, is one of the key venues to receive funding, with the ground in the middle of oval refurbishment works including a full field of play and turf wicket reconstruction.

The venue has hosted elite sporting events including AFL, AFLW and Big Bash League cricket and is compliant with international sporting standards.

Other cricketing venues across Victoria to benefit from sports turf related funding include:

Willsmere Reserve (Kew) - Redevelopment works to playing field
College Park (Mansfield) - Refurbishment works to existing playing field drainage system
Maribyrnong Reserve (Maribyrnong) - Refurbishment works to existing four pitch turf square
Overland Reserve (Keilor East) - Refurbishment works to playing field
Eltham North Reserve (Eltham) - Refurbishment works to existing playing field irrigation system
Cohuna Recreation Reserve (Cohuna) - Installation of a replacement four pitch turf square
Blackburn Park (Ouyen) - Construction of pitch turf square

Cricket Victoria Local Government and Infrastructure Manager Callum Dean believed that in investing in regional facilities it would continue to grow the game.

“By investing in both new and upgraded spaces, we’re building the foundations necessary for Victorian cricket to succeed well into the future.”

The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers to assist in providing inclusive and accessible facilities for community cricket to thrive across Victoria.

Applications for the next round of funding for the ACIF in Victoria will open on Monday 2 February 2026.
